Mean Coffee Mugs is a brand focused on putting a smile on your face in the morning with one surefire method – funny coffee mugs! We sat down with the owner to talk about the business and how Fomo fits in.
Mean Coffee Mugs is running its store on BigCommerce. Many of the world’s most successful brands use BigCommerce to sell, collect payments, and ship everywhere. Brands such as Crest, Ben & Jerry’s, and SONY use BigCommerce.
A BigCommerce store is so easy to set up that anyone with a business idea and a will to succeed can do it. It’s popular these days to set up a micro store in a targeted niche and market products that the audience will love.
Tell us about your brand! When did you launch, where are you headquartered, and what moved you to start your business?
“Mean Coffee Mugs launched in 2020 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. I started the business as a way to test my newly acquired marketing skills, oddly enough! And while it took some trial and error to start, it has been a very profitable endeavor.”
What are some of your other favorite tools for increasing conversions?
“Fomo has definitely shown us the greatest uptick in conversions, along with TrustedSite – in the last year, we’ve seen a nearly 20% increase in our conversion rate, and our average cart purchase has doubled!”
How did you learn about Fomo?
“Our abandoned cart rate was really high. People were adding items, but they weren’t completing the purchase. We tried an affiliate program, but that just didn’t seem to help.”
“Then, I learned about Fomo from another website I was buying on. It was such a great experience, and the suggestions were right on target – I thought immediately, ‘this is what I am missing’!”
“With over 300 different designs on our store, there needed to be some more targeted suggestions, and that’s where Fomo came into play! It’s easy-to-use and affordable, and we can track conversions right on our BigCommerce website.”
Do you have any advice for other Fomo users?
“Start sooner rather than later. Also – start pairing up your items. Think about it this way: ‘if someone buys product X, what are they more likely to want to accompany this with?’ and focus on those items. Be strategic!”
What is one thing you want customers to take away from your business? What are you truly selling?
“We are selling happiness in a funny cup!”
